3 cups flour
4 tbsp. yeast
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cups hot water
1/2 cup butter or oil
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
3 1/2 cups flour
In large mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour and yeast.
Mix next 6 ingredients well and add to flour and yeast.
Beat on high speed for 3 mins.
Stir in remaining flour by hand.
Cover and let rise for 30 min.
While dough is rising , combine topping ingredients in a saucepan and heat until melted.
Topping:
1 1/2 cups butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
2 tbsp. corn syrup
2 tbsp. water
Divide into 2 9"x13" pans.
Stir down batter and and drop by tablespoonfuls on topping
Bake at 375 F for 15 min or until very well browned. MAKE SURE NOT TO UNDER BAKE.
Cool 1 minute; cover with cookie sheet and carefully invert to remove from pans.
Note: This recipe can be prepared the night before if covered and refrigerated. Next morning, remove from refrigerator before preheating oven. Bake as directed.
