Flax Buns

I made these today and they are scrumptious!
3 cups warm water
3 eggs (well beaten)
1/3 cup brown sugar
4 cups stone ground whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. Fermipan yeast
3/4 cup crushed flax
4 cups white flour
I make mine in the Bosch this way:
Mix water, eggs & sugar. Beat well
Add whole wheat flour & flax
While mixing sprinkle in yeast & salt
Add white flour 1 cup at a time until dough pulls away from sides
Knead in Bosch for 5 minutes
Let rise until double in size
Punch down and form into buns
Place on greased cookie sheets
Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled
Bake @ 400F for 10-12 minutes
Remove immediately from pans

For your 4 cups of stone ground whole wheat flour (do you just grind your own?), for the yeast is that the kind that can be added dry and not have to be mixed with water and sugar?, and one more question regarding the crushed flax do you do that yourself or could you just use the ground flax from the bulk store?

Christie,

Yes, we grind our own wheat, or you can use bought whole wheat flour.

The yeast is the dry yeast.

I crush the flax in my blender. It is supposed to be more nutritious if you use it immediately after crushing, that's why we do it that way.

I hope that answers your questions:)
